Use a Resistance Band for Strong Twists

Using a resistance band in familiar yoga poses and movements enhances your awareness of the muscles involved while adding a little load to them, too!

Today's focus is on twists. You'll feel how the shoulder and upper back muscles alongside the oblique abdominal muscles work together to rotate your spine.

No doubt you will feel stronger, taller, and lighter in your movements after class!

Props used:

  • a long resistance band (medium to light resistance should do; don't use your heaviest one)
  • pillow or blanket to use as cushion under head and/or knees

Accessibility:

  • this class is best suited for experienced yoga and movement practitioners
  • poses are done lying on the back, on hands and knees, standing, laying on the belly, and seated on the floor.
