Strong and Mobile Shoulders with Resistance Band

Do your shoulders feel tight? The feeling of tightness is often alleviated with strengthening movements that simultaneously mobilise the shoulder joint.

Grab your long resistance band for this class that both strengthens and loosens up your shoulders, chest, and upper back. You'll also feel your core muscles at different points throughout this practice.

We start with a seated warm-up, move to hands and knees, practice some standing poses, do a fun but challenging variation of locust pose (belly down backbend), before ending with some stretches on the back before final relaxation.

Props recommended:

  • long resistance band (nothing too tight, find a happy medium amount of resistance)
  • padding for under the knees
  • a bolster (option to lay on it for the belly-down backbend)
  • pillow or block (to sit on and/or to place under the head)
