Getting up and Down - Strong Mobility for Ankles, Knees

Practice different ways of getting down and up from the floor. This class will challenge your ankle, knee, and hip mobility while also integrating core support.

After our opening seated relaxation we make our way to our feet to warm up the lower body through heel raises and squat variations. Then we slowly move through a couple sun salutation variations to awaken the core, upper back, and thighs.

Onward to the heart of today's practice - exploring different ways of moving down to the floor and back to standing again.

We end with a series of hip stretches before settling into final relaxation to rest and restore.

Props recommended:

  • a pillow for under the knees (you must be able to bring your knees to the floor for this practice)
  • a couple blocks
