Core Strength with Strong Hip Abductors (Outer Thighs)

Your hip abductor muscles include parts of the glute muscles and other hip rotators that move the thighs out to the side. These muscles help stabilize your pelvis when you walk or balance on one foot, which feeds into core strength and low back stability.

In this class we focus on strengthening the hip abductors to increase our core stability and balance in everyday life as well as in yoga postures such as side plank variations and half moon balance.

Recommended Props:

  • a pillow or blanket to use under the knees and/or head
  • a stool or a couple yoga blocks to place your hands on in a standing forward bend
