About Darcie

Why do I practice homeopathic medicine?
I am impressed with how homeopathy gives relevance to my patients' unique experience of disease. With homeopathy I am assured the best medicine for my patients without side effects or risk of dependency. I am devoted to improving my patients' well-being with healthy medicine.
What am I like as a yoga teacher?
My goal is to make yoga accessible for everyone, regardless of flexibility, strength, weight, or age. In my classes, I encourage students to explore and play in the poses to gain an awareness of their own movement. Ultimately, yoga is about cultivating an awareness of the changing rhythms of our body, breath, and mind. My teaching style encourages you to listen in and become a neutral observer of the dynamic nature of the self.
I am a caring and attentive yoga teacher, and delight in watching my students develop increased confidence and awareness through simply practicing yoga. I offer clear and thorough instruction so you'll never feel lost during a class, and provide guidance through gentle hands-on assisting.
My education and credentials
I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Anthropology at Trent University before going on to graduate from the Toronto School of Homeopathic Medicine. During this three year intensive homeopathy program students gain a solid understanding of anatomy, nutrition, pathology, physiology, physical examination, drug interactions, and counselling skills in addition to homeopathic medicine.
In 2006 I followed a long-time aspiration to become a yoga teacher and attended the 200 hour yoga teacher certification program at YogaSpace with Kathryn Beet and Patricia White. Since then I continue to explore the nature of yoga in workshops with a variety of teachers, including Susi Hately Aldous, Wade Imre Morissette, and Cora Wen.
I am a registered homeopath with the Canadian Society of Homeopaths.
